DONNAY ALLWOOD 102-300g a look at the past aiming for the future

Speaking of the DONNAY brand, one cannot help but recall the iconic figure of what for years was the world's largest producer of tennis rackets, the legendary and timeless Bjorn Borg.

The successes of the "Swedish bear" are inextricably linked to two models that have themselves become symbols of victories and in some way the emblem of the player who, with his physical, muscular, and middle-distance runner's approach, revolutionized the way of understanding tennis with his interminable rallies and complex geometries.

Donnay ALLWOOD Bjorn Borg      The new DONNAY ALLWOOD 102

From a graphic point of view, the DONNAY ALLWOOD features an elegant finish with visible multi-directional carbon and a glossy "clear coat" finish; the graphics refer both to the old progenitor ALLWOOD BJORN BORG, for the color tones, and to the subsequent BJORN BORG PRO, for the explicit reference to the squares placed near the bridge of the frame.

At the top of the oval, the flaming ALLWOOD inscription stands out, characterized by the same font used for the original version.

It should be emphasized that the "multi-directional carbon" perimeter finish used by Donnay for some time now has a dual function, both aesthetic and structural, anticipating what would later be the path recently followed by some major brands on the market.

It should also be noted that the DONNAY ALLWOOD 102" features a solid shaft made of XENECORE polyurethane foam and characterized by a HEXACORE six-chamber structure capable of combining maximum lightness, strength, and vibration absorption in a single structure with incredible flexibility.

data measured with strung and "ready-to-play" racket with overgrip and dampener

From the analysis of the static stiffness data of the stringbed, (strung with 4 knots in 1.25 gauge monofilament at a tension of 24kg), a VERY WIDE AND HOMOGENEOUS RESPONSE emerges, suggesting EXCELLENT TOLERANCE ON OFF-CENTER SHOTS, good stability and optimal spin potential.
The width of the ideal impact zone guarantees COMFORT and at the same time playability in all conditions, be it attack, volley, defense, or recovery.
The shape of the oval and the string spacing certainly contribute to the racket's response, which is ready for a wide range of use.

pro-t-one flexpoint analysis

The DONNAY ALLWOOD 102 is a racket with incredible structural flexibility. From measurements taken with the strung racket, the frame showed good progressiveness and flexibility, characterized by the absence of one or more particularly marked flexion points. Of note is the solidity of the oval and the head of the shaft, ensuring good response and effective spin potential. The carbon is certainly characterized by a low elastic modulus which favors impact softness and overall flexibility with minimal vibration transmission. The static stiffness value measured with the strung racket is 50-51 RA points with a natural vibration frequency of 110Hz, which is in line with the frame's deflection value -> The frame sounds deep, full, very soft and sly…. something extremely different from any other racket on the market.
From what the data suggests, the frame allows for a PLAYABILITY OF ANOTHER ERA, a very particular feeling and sensation of contact with the ball,

accompanied by an uncommon SENSITIVITY, data that place the racket in a very particular category that can cover the competitive player looking for an ideal combination of spin, power, control, and comfort; the amateur player looking for a comfortable and fun racket, perhaps even with some elbow problems; the veteran who wants to relive the feelings of feel and ball contact, forgotten with the advent of new rigid and nervous materials.

pro-t-one racquet-lab

The DONNAY ALLWOOD 102 - 300g is a very versatile racket and not exclusively for the slightly older enthusiast with nostalgia for tennis of the past; it is a modern racket in terms of construction, design, technical solutions adopted and playing capacity, but with particular attention to comfort, feel and control.
